Postage

With a lot of my brides beginning to send out their save the dates and wedding invites, I thought that this postage rate cheat sheet would be perfect! It always gets a little tricky when you are trying to figure out postage, and don’t forget to add that into your stationery budget because it can add up quickly. A special thanks to Delphine-Ephemera for sharing their knowledge and I hope that you find this helpful!

Cheers!

Happy New Year!

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful start to 2012! If you are anything like me, I have spent all weekend cleaning and trying to get organized, but know that in a few months I will most likely look around and wonder where my New Years organization went. My aunt passed along this declutter and organize calendar which helps you to take on a task daily to help keep you organized and decluttered throughout the year. I thought that I would pass it along to help all of you out there!

Cheers to 2012!

My Favorite Things…

So it has been forever since I have blogged, but things around here have been crazy! I made a promise to myself to be better about blogging this month, so here it goes.
With the holiday’s quickly approaching, I thought that I would share some of my favorite things in terms of gift ideas, party ideas, and recipes. I have become OBSESSED with Pinterest and with the many hours of stalking others people’s wonderful ideas, I have found some things that I just can’t live without!

That brings me to my first favorite thing this holiday season, these adorable monograms from Southern Proper Monograms. I think that these would make the perfect gift and are so unique and special. This is also a great idea for a bride who may want to even use it for their guest book for everyone to sign…just an idea :) Check out their website and order away, their prices are fantastic!

Welcome to I Do Details Caity and Elliott

I am so excited to begin to work with another great Elon couple!!

They were introduced by 2 of their best friends (also engaged now!) while they were at Elon. They met in January of her Senior year and Elliott’s last month of being at Elon after staying for an additional semester. Elliott moved to Charlotte and they stayed in touch, but were just friends. Caity spent a year in Italy after graduating, and Elliott and her were in constant communication. She hoped that they would start dating when she came back. Caity had such a big crush on Elliott the whole time she was abroad but literally had no idea if the feelings were mutual. They started dating not even a month after she moved to Charlotte.
Elliott made plans for them to go on vacation (place tbd, or so he said) last June. Since Caity has the innate ability to ruin every surprise, she got the location out of him before they left. Her family had vacationed in Sea Island, Georgia every year and Elliott wanted to take her there but with a twist. He rented a house on St. Simon’s Island and she hoped he’d propose regardless of where they were going, but was pretty positive when she found out it was St. Simon’s. Elliott popped the question on the second night they were there. They had just gotten back from going out to dinner and were about to have some wine out on the screened in porch. She was so excited that she started crying immediately and has no idea what Elliott even said!
They couldn’t be more excited about thier future together. They feel so incredibly lucky to be able to spend the rest of their lives with thier best friend!
Congrats to a wonderful couple and I am so excited for their September wedding at The Duke Mansion.
Cheers!

Welcome to I Do Details Kara and Frank!

I am so excited to welcome Kara and Frank to the I Do Details family!
Frank and Kara met through a mutual friend in October 2004 when she was just visiting Charlotte and trying to make plans to move here. They were fast friends and eventually started dating a few months later. They have had so much fun together the last six years making Charlotte their home, enjoying concerts and football games and traveling the world together.

While they had begun to discuss getting married in recent months, Kara was SO surprised and excited when Frank proposed while they were visiting her hometown of Staunton, Virginia. Kara’s parents were bursting at the seams when they told them the news and it was very special to be able to celebrate that exciting time with her friends and family! They drove straight from Virginia to Frank’s hometown of Spartanburg, South Carolina to celebrate with his family and then were able to continue the fun on a trip to visit a friend in California before getting back to reality!

They are so excited to be a family and can’t wait to see what adventures life has in store for them as a married couple!

I am so excited to be a part of their big day at Roof With a View in August!Cheers to an amazing couple!

Tiarafina

A couple of weeks ago, I went to the Sip and Stroll Uptown and really enjoyed looking at all of the various artists. While there, I came across Tiarafina and just loved all of their unique pieces. Rachel and Sara have been designing and selling hair accessories since February. Knowing that Sara was very creative and into art and fashion, Rachel proposed the idea of going into business together, and taught her the basics! Soon after they dove right in and taught themselves how to hand sew flowers out of fabric as an alternative to silk flowers, and also started using other materials like rhinestones and jewels, feathers, leather, rich fabrics, buttons and brooches, etc. They now make a wide range of accessories from casual and bohemian to Princess Kate inspired hats and bridal pieces. They love doing custom work for brides, because they seem to need very particular colors, fabrics, feathers, and jewels. They keep all of our pre-made bridal pieces “unfinished” without any kind of backing on them so that a bride could choose to put the piece on a headband, clip, comb, or loops, or even add a birdcage veil or small hat base. Rachel and Sara are looking forward to working with more brides in the future and are even getting into embellishing bridal clutches with flowers, feathers, etc. for the bride and her bridal party. Other things they can do for weddings include shoe clips, corsages, fabric flower/feather bouquets, and boutonnieres for the men. So be sure to check them out at their ETSY shop- Tiarafina, like them on Facebook, or email them for more info at tiarafina@aol.com

Cheers!

Cheers to Friday! What an adorable gift for a bridesmaid! My friend Cherie passed this along to me and I thought that they were so cute! How much fun would these be at a bridesmaid luncheon or for getting ready on the big day? Check out Floralpaint8 on Etsyfor these adorable glasses!
